Troy Glennan hits up the Nationals for ROCKSTAR RACINGAfter all this racing I had some confidence going into Australian Mountain Bike Championships (January 09) with a good level of fitness.

Of course that was until a week before the race ROCKSTAR RACING team manager Dwight informing me that the course for nationals didn’t really suit a 6'5 90kg guy (no sh*t!).

But I thought I should just give it a go anyway and spent a couple of weeks out on the SCOTT Spark to get back into the swing of things on the fat tyres.

After a few warm up laps out on the course the day before the race I was wishing I had listened to Dwight’s advice.... Ah well.... Too late now....

Come race day the course was still tough, but with the cheer of the crowd I was pretty pumped and open to taking a few risks.

Although things were not made any easier given the fact fellow ROCKSTAR RACING rider Hamish Elliot and I were both seeded on the last row of the grid.

On what I can only describe as the hardest course I have ridden, I was a little out of my depth on the technical sections, but made up some good ground on the open sections of the course. Although in the end it was another solid day in the office but I was a little disappointed I didn’t finish a little further up the rankings.

What now? Hamish Elliot hits up the National XC Champs for ROCKSTAR RACING

A few weeks off before I start my next block of training for the Australian Marathon Championships in March and the Mont 24 hour. Until then - ride it like a ROCKSTAR!
