ROCKSTAR RACING’s Hamish Elliot leads the Circus!

Rockstar Racing at the 3 Ring Circus

After the recent win at the state XC championships, ROCKSTAR Hamish Elliot was keen to continue with his winning form.

A field of 600 riders lined up on a cold and windy morning in Wingello for the inaugural running of the 3 Ring Circus. A winning time of 2 hours was expected for the 50km event, and a fast pace was set from the gun.

The field split early, with a group of six staying together until the first major climb. Here Hamish attacked and with the Elite riders unable to respond, he rode the remaining 30km solo. Victory came in 1 hr 53 mins (26.5 kph). Canberra rider Nicholas Menanger came in 2 minutes down, and KOM rider Andrew East another 3 mins down in 3rd.

Hamish Elliot at the 3 Ring CircusElliot reflected on his victory, “I felt good today … I enjoy racing on Saturdays - there should be more of it. The course was fast with some solid climbs which suits my style of racing”.

With plenty of racing on the calendar, the team will head south for NETTI ENDURO in mid September.
